The internet is a wonderful resource to learn about art. Here are some sites that I have learned from - the artists share their talent freely, adding good karma to the world.
(disclaimer: While there are no sites that are obviously inappropriate for younger people, I do not control what is on any of these sites so check them out to your satisfaction if you are going to let your kids explore them.)
Youtube - here is a link to my Youtube channel where I've started collecting videos that show various art techniques. You can find virtually any instructions on how to draw, paint, make something on youtube!
Pinterest - I think this site is so cool. You can browse (or start your own) pin boards and collect (or pin) images that you like to your board. It is a fabulous way to keep ideas and inspiration for when you need something pretty to look at.
